USDA Sec. Vilsack demonstrates once again his greed-driven blindness to the realities of the food crisis.. Once again, GMO food is being touted to cure hunger. Don't believe it. Ever. The world has plenty of food and can feed the entire world if it wanted it.
And therein lies the mirrors that Vilsack and other proponents employ in order to drive the stock price of industrial agriculture corporations: they promise the new technology will alleviate the food crisis, but for a fee.
the United States must do more to convince other countries to accept new technologies for agriculture
"Accept" means shoving GMO crops down the throats of vulnerable or bought off countries. "New" means promises are made to be broken. "Technologies" mean unsustainable, worst practices kind of farming.
Full translation: the United States must do more to ram down the throats of countries an unsustainable agricultural practice that creates foods that has been show to be very harmful to those who eat them. Basically, if you're hungry, our food will put you out of your misery. You can die on a stomach full of genetically modified food that wasn't designed for consumption, but rather for profit.
