Last Snow Dates
In Colorado it helps to know some facts about the weather so as not to be lulled into planting your garden too soon. Those lovely March and April days can make me hopeful, and rush me into seeding plants before the last snow comes and knocks everything flat.
That being said I planted a bunch of wildflowers April 3rd as it started to snow. They're hardy and so I hoped that by the last snow they wouldn't have necks that Spring snows would easily break. That was the case this year. I have hundreds of seedlings in the bed (outside, mind you) that are just 1 or 2 tiny leafs resting on the soil. I think they will survive very well, and perhaps be made hardier for it.
