Food Fight » Organic » Organic Isn't

Here's a chance to give your two cents to Whole Foods and United Natural Foods Inc. Let them know your support organics but not their so called natural.

"Natural," in the overwhelming majority of cases, translates to "conventional-with-a-green-veneer." Natural products are routinely produced using pesticides, chemical fertilizer, hormones, genetic engineering, and sewage sludge. "Natural","all-natural," and "sustainable," products in most cases are neither backed up by rules and regulations, nor a Third Party certifier. These are label claims that are neither policed nor monitored.

Never judge a product by its label. And checking the ingredients isn't foolproof either as these products and companies are not required to truthfully disclose exactly what is in the package.

Compost

Erosion is the end results of a gradual loss of soil fertility. Composts helps build good structure that encourages optimum fertility and resist erosion. Really fertile soil is very resistant to erosion - that is soil as nature intended it to be.
