Yoplait is going rBGH-free
Yoplait is going rBGH-free by August of this year, says the OCA rBGH mailing list.
They report that Yoplait is "the first leading yogurt brand to go rBGH-free. This will undoubtedly come as a surprise to Stonyfield, Brown Cow, Cascade Fresh, Nancy’s and all the all-organic brands."
The reason it comes as a surprise is because those other 'organic' brands belong to the Organic Trade Association (OTA) that have been responsible for weakening the organic standards with the help of the USDA.
Speaking of them....
OTA strongly recommends that you obtain confirmation of any product's organic certification status from a USDA accredited certifier before completing any transactions.
Have any readers ever obtained any product's organic certification? Didn't think so. I'm going to try and find out how. Anyone want to bet it's a merry go round, or a wild goose chase that leads to nowhere?
